  • The logo for Rainbow Serpent; a personal branding project for a series of illustrations which aim to elegantly explore myths.
The circular blue guidelines on the construction drawings above are relationally based on phi (φ, or 1.618~).
  • The first illustration in the Rainbow Serpent series – based on the Classical Greek myth of Theseus, the Crete Labyrinth and its horned inhabitant.
  • The second illustration in the Rainbow Serpent series – based on the Babylonian myth of the goddess Tiamat’s defeat at Marduk’s blade. According to the traditional tale, Tiamat is split and her halves create Heaven and Earth.
  • The third illustration in the Rainbow Serpent series. A man is petrified by Medusa’s gaze.
  • A web-promotional poster for The Cabin in the Woods.

    Client: Lionsgate Films
    Art Director: Rolf Jensen
    Potato-stamp type buddy: Alison Groves

  • Process shots of the cover of Vincent N. Perales’ horror novel, Nightmare Me.

The book involves a woman who sees distorted nightmarish realities, one which includes visions of a monstrous doppelgänger, or paranormal double, that eats her victims.

The original illustration (above) was painted with acrylics on textured A4 paper. The type was done with white acrylic on glass.
  • The painting was scanned before being coloured and chopped on Adobe Photoshop. The image above shows the glass/acrylic type treatment placed over the printed image.
  • The printed image and glass were then scanned. Blu-tack kept the glass and paper aligned correctly during the scanning.
  • The image above is the final cover, which prints at 6 by 9 inches.
