Framed within a whimsical, colorful, and often sinister illustration style, The Secret Satellite Mail Order Flyer is a fictitious marketing campaign directed at the consumer lusts of the ruling elite, highlighting topics of social confusion, control, and economics. The Secret Satellite is a mail order company dedicated to the successful lifestyles of tyrants, presidents, despots, billionaire CEOs, prime ministers, media moguls, first, second, and third rate dictators, potentates, overlords, and other members of the ruling class.

  • Illustration - The Secret Satellite Mail Order Flyer
    This was my first serious illustration project. It started in 2002 and the entire project was conceived and created by myself as a way to enter the field of illustration. I had previously been doing a lot of graphic design work for print and the web, which is evident in my heavy use of type. Several pieces in the series were accepted into the Communication Arts Illustration Annual as well as the Applied Arts Photography and Illustration Annual.

    Framed within a whimsical, colorful, and often sinister illustration style, The Secret Satellite Mail Order Flyer is a fictitious marketing campaign directed at the consumer lusts of the ruling elite, highlighting topics of social confusion, control, and economics. The series asks relevant questions of contemporary culture and its impact on our lives and beliefs, all behind the guise of a highly branded, mail-order company and its continuous direct mail campaign (the flyer itself). The Secret Satellite is "a mail order company dedicated to the successful lifestyles of tyrants, presidents, despots, billionaire CEOs, prime ministers, media moguls, first, second, and third rate dictators, potentates, overlords, and other members of the ruling class."
